My name is Ashley, I am from Warner Robins, GA, and I major in religion at Trevecca Nazarene University. In my spare time you can usually find me doing something adventurous outside or getting into a good book! One of the learning moments I have had in college life has been realizing that managing your own time instead of your parents doing it for you is very difficult, but still very necessary! The first thing I plan to do after graduation is to buy a puppy, preferably a boxer. One goal I currently have is to prepare myself to be the best Resident Assistant at Trevecca I can be this coming school year; this is a new leadership position for me and my fear is that I won’t be good enough at the job. But I will conquer this fear by believing in myself and who I am and being confident that I am capable of doing great things for the students on my campus! The most inspiring work I have seen in this community in Nashville is one that I volunteer with myself. Harvest Hands is a great program that works with elementary, middle, and high school students. They have an after school program that gives them the opportunity to have fun while teaching them good morals at the same time, and they provide jobs for the high schoolers in order to prepare them for entering the real job world one day. The most passionate thing about Nashville is the community’s determination and motivation to take its own needs and meet them in every way possible. It’s a beautiful thing to watch a city build it self up in the areas it has been knocked down!
